New in Prepr
We're introducing Mux for all new Prepr accounts and are raising the bar for video quality and delivery methods. Mux is now the default video and audio storage and streaming solution for all new Prepr accounts. Creating your own Mux account is not required, because Prepr offers a direct integration with Mux.
Mux Video is an API for professional video and audio streaming. Your video and audio files will automatically be uploaded to Mux by Prepr. From there you can stream them using a few simple API calls. Your videos will look beautiful every time, on any platform and at any scale. No matter if your content gets 10 or 10,000,000 views, it will play instantly.
Mux uses the HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) streaming protocol to deliver video content using an adaptive bitrate and resolution. ABR helps to prevent buffering in video playback by adaptively reducing video quality, whenever needed.
Mux is now the default video and audio storage and streaming solution for all new Prepr accounts. Creating your own Mux account is not required, because Prepr offers a direct integration with Mux. We are still offering the same, competitive, pricing model for video and audio transcoding.
If you already have a Mux account you can use that as well, so all the assets uploaded through Prepr will be stored in the same environment as your existing assets. Reach out to us to request this option.
Compared to our previous video and audio solution, Mux offers various performance improvements that result in a better user experience for both your customers as well as content editors working with video and audio content in Prepr.
Uploading video content is now up to five times faster, resulting in a significantly faster editing experience for content editors.
Using Mux, video is transcoded by default to optimize performance. It means that your customers will experience faster video playback and smoother scrubbing through clips. Videos are automatically optimized for all types of devices, so your customers will be watching high resolution videos without using more data than required.

What we have launched today is just the first step. In the future, we plan to further enhance the integration with Mux.
Data collection becomes more and more important and we aim to fulfill that need for our users. In the future, we will offer insightful analytics on streaming and watching video and audio content.
Live streaming is another feature we're planning to add in the near future. That means that embedding custom live streaming tools won't be necessary anymore and you will be able to manage all your video content using Mux.
